You are in:

Its territory contains the main specimens of Sardinian flora and fauna: wild-boars, foxes, weasels, ferrets, hedgehogs, eagles, vultures, buzzards, peregrines, all living among expanses of arbutus, rock rose, lentisk, rosemary with white and blue flowers, myrtle, holm-oaks, ancient olive trees, juniper and alder. Sight-seeing tours will make you discover the natural park of Bruncu Santoru, which consists of three distinct areas: a flat zone characterized by 'is breccas', particular fractures in the rocks, an eastern area ending at the rocky spur of Bruncu Santoru, from which spectacular landslides branch out, the central part of the park, and the last one winding between the river and the rocky walls through a very thick vegetation.

Among the several streams crossing Perdasdefogu, some of them generate beautiful falls; the highest one is 'su Luesu' (70 metres), which forms at its base a natural pool surrounded by bushes of oleander. Beyond twenty-two nuraghs, in this territory you can seize the opportunity to visit many caves, among which we highly recommend 'S’Angurtidorgiu', one of the deepest karstic chasm in Europe. This is the reason why Perdasdefogu has become a destination for Italian and international university expeditions: due to the uniqueness of this area, it attracts both geographical and botanic scientists.

Local specialities, beyond roasted meats, are linked to country traditional dishes, simple but tasty: a kind of bread made with potatoes and cooked inside a wood-burning oven ('sa moddigina'), a soup made with dry bread boiled in salty water and served in layers with tomato sauce and local cheese ('su pani incasau'), a minestrone made with bread, legumes and cheese and the 'fiscidu e fregala', a Sardinian kind of pasta very similar to cous-cous, served with pickled cheese and fresh mint.
